Hi! I just bought a 1979 cruiser yesterday. Was about 2 hours driving it home and when I got there I noticed there was a red light on the dash, next to the BRAKE that won't go off. Don't have manuals - yet - so not sure what this means. Pls see attached pic. This is my first cruiser, have no experience but ready to learn!

If someone could please tell me what this means or what I should check - thanks!

It doesn't have a label ;(

Thanks! There are definitely no wires connected to either seat belt. Could it be a short circuit or loose wire? Where could I check? Thanks!

So... it was the ignition light ;)

The easy "fix" was: insert key, turn back ;)

The light only comes on when the motor is off. With the key being kinda optional with the these jeeps, I guess it can catch you off guard. I called the previous owner and he told me right away what it was - adding, a lot of first time cruiser owners end up draining their batteries because of this.

Thanks everyone for your help!

Say it isn't so :crybaby:

Haha. I guess this is a Costa Rica thing. There are 2 Land Cruisers: the truck - with the flatbed - and the jeep (with a small "j").

Yeah it's a common mistake in Central America, I spend a lot of time correcting people.

Yeah, popular brands get abstracted out to mean the entire category.
