The roof is all done and ready for a final sand and primer:

They took the hood down but realized that there was some rust forming under the factory primer so they chemically striped the entire hood and are going to use a new sealant. Here is a picture of it before they took it all the way to bare metal:

Found a few more trouble spots... Fender:

This is where the rear opening on the truck meets up with the made chassis cross member. It was between the top panel and the square tubing that has the body mounts. We are going to get new mounts after the truck comes back from paint and get it up on the frame a bit to clean the rest up under the truck and get some protection on there. Really happy they found this though, I didn't even notice how the top piece had swollen from the rust expanding underneath.

This was the spot before the top panel was cut (a little prying was done to see behind it).

Awesome. Can't wait to get mine painted again one day.

I was hoping for a shot of you driving with aviator goggles on with no windshield!
Got to love new OEM parts, NEVER gets old seeing them.

It would have just been a pair of raybans and a perfectly quaffed hair-do. You can't get volume like that from a regular old hair dryer.

Got a little bit done this weekend. Started out by organizing a little bit in the garage. Digging out the parts we need is getting tough with how packed the garage is.

Put the door gaskets in, two new ones for the front doors and we cleaned up the gaskets for the rear and snapped those in. Started work on the front door mechanicals. Got the handle on and the regulators. Dropped the drivers window in after cleaning all the guides.

Took a break to do some of the fancy things.

I bought a section of roof gutter from lowes and some end caps so I can soak the trim in lye and start polishing it up during the week. Next weekend should be more progress, with a break on Sunday to bbq for mom.

Dam nice!

What a good looking truck and like the many new parts you're adding. I'm curious on what you're cleaning with Lye. I did not know what it was when reading the above post and googled it. That's some really strong stuff

I used to use it to strip anodizing off aluminum, super strong stuff, works great for cleaning drainage pipes too
