I am a single Dad that weekend....I'm out for Redbird.

Brings back memories of PYS1! That was the most fun I have had in a parking lot since I was a teenager and couldn't afford a motel.

Ahhhh good times!

Can we party in the park?

We can party quietly
We proved that in the Holiday Inn parking lot

Bringin back the PYS1 memories

I hope we can camp there on friday (if its someplace nice to camp, ie, not a parking lot) Cause im not too interested in waking up at 3:30am to go wheel all day....

So what's the schedule? Party Friday and Saturday and head back Sunday? I should be able to make it Friday night as I earned a couple more vacation days this past week.

That is what id like to do....if theres someplace to party on friday.

If theres a place to camp i can be there friday right after work.

Tony was down at Carl's shop with me yesterday and promised to look into the camping accommodations other than at the park. Ron is on vacation and is out of town, so rather than wait til the last minute we took a proactive approach. I am definitely up for Friday night as well and I think an established campground away from the park will likely be the better option. I can't remember if the park employees are rangers, but I have had some interesting experiences at tamer events than what we are likely to put on.

My 700r4 is in and running leak free, the headers are installed and are leak free and the rig runs much quieter with a cherry bomb turbo muffler rather than the old flowmaster that was on it. I am really looking forward to this trip! I am hoping for an Indian summer for that weekend, but am ready for anything just to get back out again.

hmmm, well a state park (dry park) could be a problem with this group

So there is no camping at redbird on friday night?

If we all pitch in for 1 hotel room at a holiday inn, we can all party in the lot, use the room, and eat the breakfast..... Should cost each guy about $3. :grinpimp:

I have camped in many of the Indiana State Parks and they are not Nazi like on drinking like they are in Illinois. Of course it was never with a group like this but in Illinois it could be a 70 yr old dude sitting by a camp fire by himself drinking a beer and they would bust him.
I've seen it and won't camp in another Illinois state park again.

In indiana, you have to make state park reservations online. Shakamac state park has no electric sites available for Oct 23 and 24. There are primative sites available as of right now and there are several grouped together. We would need to make a decision soon though. This is prime fall color season. There is a private campground south of Redbird that may also work. I rarely have internet service here in the TN mountains so if Tony could check that out, that'd be great. I believe Redbird is closed tues and wed.

Im guessing with out hook up, many in the group will be sad.

The private camp might work, depending on how sketchy it is and how far from the park.

I suggest asking redbird their opinion....

This is assuming Friday camping is out at redbird??
