I always liked my 3.0's. I cant complain about them...except there a little tough to work on, but I never had to work on them.
 
Tony, I did some more checking and I don't believe now there is a private campground nearby unless Carl has some ideas. Just south of redbird there is the Green Sullivan State Forest and there are over 100 primative sites there. Unlike Shakamak where one can make online res., at GSSF it is first come first served. It should be a prime weekend though so the earlier someone can get there to save some spots, the better. Google Maps has both areas depicted. There are three campgrounds in green and I believe the are pretty much in the middle of the property. Also, again today I tried to speak with the redbird properth manager. The told me he would research my questions and call me back but he never did. Redbird is open tomorrow so if I can't get any answers, my vote will be the state forest. Sounds way cooler than a parking lot anyway. Comments?
 
So, no...there is no redbird camping friday?

Im up for whatever place isnt a dump and allows drinking...as long as it isnt tooooo much farther than redbird...
 
Redbird is about two hours from Tony's. The state forest campground should be about 5 or so miles straight south of Redbird and we should be fine there with all of our bafoonery.
 
Ok campers.....Here is the skinny

This sounds like a place for me...

Hillbilly Acres Campground

$15.00 per night for full hook up
2 people per site
Must make Reservations (at least Joyce said she would like us too)
5 miles from Redbird
Drinking allowed, Joyce said just don't bother other campers & quiet time is 11:00 pm.
Call office/home of Joyce @ 812-847-7974. Or if no answer call Joyce on her cell @ 812-384-6812, & if all else fails call Curt @ 812-798-0299 (but only as a last resort)

If it's too cold the water will be shut off & no showers. If it's not too cold the showers will be on.

This sounds like the Golden Ticket to me & I told Joyce we would be arriving mid to late evening on Friday & she said thats fine, just call her if we get there & she isn't in the office & she will come meet us.

Ron, are you gonna reserve a spot for the camper, or do I need to call?

Yes we can, we just need to make the plan with all the other campers & call


By the way there will be fresh water available via a hydrant, if the camp ground water is shut off

Ron poses an interesting question, if we want to camp together .....I guess we all need to get with a program & make some plans so we can get a block of sites.......Never done that before, Maybe ron should call Joyce tomorrow see how we need to do this.

I really like this 3.0 also....
Once I got all the bugs worked out of it, it runs fantastic
Been wheelin it in my woods every day this week ( for about 2 hours today) & it goes awesome, can't wait to get it out to Redbird.
 
Put me down for Friday and Sat. camping. Ask her if there is a burn ban in place, there is down here due to the lack of rain, but I don't know if it goes that far north.

Can't get the website to come up, can someone post directions or an address.

Tony, I have a 33" x 9" on a stock land cruiser wheel. Never been on the ground, it just hung on the back of the 40 for a few years. Its yours, and will be delivered to the campground on Friday. It will cost you ONE rum and coke, if you can find any.

OK so I will call Joyce but I need a tentative count of sites needed for friday and sat. So please post up your arrival intentions and I will have her hold a block of sites until people call to pay/confirm. By the way, the name is Hillbilly Acres campground if you want to google.

Well, im spooning with Todd. Not sure wether he likes to spoon or be spooned...I suppose that doesnt really have anything to do with this conversation....Its just all I can think about....speaking of six to midnight.....
