So where did you get your recovery point bolts. I believe stock are 60mm long... I need anothe 1/2 in the way my tjm bumper is on, so I was looking for 70mm also. No one in town seems to have the 14 1.5. Only the 2.0 thread. And were they 14$ each? !thanks just curious
My local hardware store, King Bolts. They were 3-4 bucks a piece.

When I installed mine I tried to find bolts at the local hardware and parts stores with no luck. I ended up visiting a bolt and screw supplier in Nashville. I'd try these two places in your area.

Springs Fastener Co.
or
Lightening Bolt Inc.

Ya tried both of these places no luck. Anyway this is way harder with this tjm bumper. It has two 1/4” shim plates between it and the bumper, so I decided, eff it, I’m putting it in place of shim plates. Tow hook side relaxed when I took the bolts out can’t line back up. Anyway I’ll get it eventually I’m done tonight though. Btw I bought this rig off member Paul Gardner I think. This is like a prototype tjm17 or something. There is a thread on here about it. Probably why I’m having the troubles. I mean are the holes supposed to look like that? And different size bolts on each side

Did either even offer a solution for your needs? The first fastener place I visited (Fastenal) Didn't have what I needed and made it seem like I was asking for a bolt made on a different planet! I'll never take any business to them again. Since you can't find them locally I'd be ordering from the online retailer @Ayune mentioned earlier.

I'd say the bolt holes have been modified, I'm sure your thinking the same thing.

As for the bolts, those look like the factory bolts. The left would take two of the shorter bolts and the right would take two longer ones. The right had an additional tow hook that required longer bolts.

Local shops were helpful; would order some for me. I’m just putting factory bolts back in. Driver side done. Once I line up the passenger side somehow factory bolts back in there too. If they ever fail I’ll be surprised and you all will see a crazy picture.

Can someone please show me a failed factory tow point?
Yeah I want to see or hear about a factory J hook type tow hook breaking. In fact I have seen posts on another forum about folks adding a second J hook so they can use them with bridles.

@LandCruiserPhil and @ClassyJalopy I didn't replace mine over fear of them failing. For me it was convenience, I didn't want to take the time to modify the existing tow points to work with the recovery gear I purchased. I don't believe anyone on this thread questioned the strength of the factory points (that discussion was in a different thread :)).
