Hello all.
I've tried the "Important Club Threads" as well as a general forum search. Didn't find anything on this topic more recent than a year. I'm looking to have a body mount chop done on my FJC. Can anyone recommend a shop to have this done at either in PHX or Tucson?
I'd appreciate it.

You mean this mod? Looks like $20 in tools from Harbor Freight and 30 minutes worth of work. Are you looking spfor something more than that job?

Not sure of a good answer for you, but I know this is a commonly discussed modification on the FJ Cruiser forum. Try azfj.org if you haven't already. Good luck!

I'm one fo the original FJC owners in the valley and BMC'd both of my trucks, over 150,000 miles, plenty of wheeling, running 315/75/16's on both, and I did not weld back the caps on either one because it's unnecessary. Cut, grind, paint, wheel. Of course there is some Toyota Tupperware trimming that goes along with this mod depending on your suspension set up. Trim out where the rubs occur with a sharp knife.

If you want to restore the cap piece for aesthetic reasons I can understand, but it does not restore any appreciable structural integrity back to the mount. Once you set the location for the vertical cut and the wedge angle, any reasonably skilled fab shop should be able to accomplish it for a few hundred bucks.
