Hey all,

Purchased a 62 recently with a seized engine, looking to rebuild it but dont know any good machine shops in the state as ive never had a rebuild done, im located in puyallup/tacoma, i called torfab but the wait and price are just too long, also any tips/suggestions on rebuild process? The shop its at now quoted 2500-3000 on a rebuild...but it sounds to cheap to be true or am i paranoid? Help!

You might consider a used engine, but may have to wait for something to show up.

I just had mine done to a tune of 4k. My core was also toast so it required a 1k core totaling 5k. You may need a new oil pan as they dont seem to seat very well after they have been removed from an old engine.

Try Bill Mag in Bonney Lake = 253-335-3506. He works on my buddies rigs, and if I needed a hand I'd call him in a heart beat.

I'm friends with Tor and he does awesome work but he and his crew are so good and so busy that sometimes for the basic stuff you have to chase down a plan b.

Should be a a few good engine shops in Tacoma. Otherwise, WhiteCenter engine rebuilder "sorry cannot recall" The place ROCKS! I was visiting the place in the 1990s and the owner was a two time funny car drag champion. The shop was rebuilding a Dusenburg engine and were in the process of doing a ferarri engine. I was impressed! ohh this is no fancy shop so any hick would feel at home there :)

Do a good inspection on the engine block before you bring it to a shop, A few months ago I bought a FJ62 for parts, like yours the engine was seized.
After dismantling a few engine parts I noticed a bad crack on the block .
