so I finally pulled the engine out for my 350 swap and was looking to replace the bearings in the tranny and transfer case while it’s all out. Looking for suggestions and feedback on good place to get reliable rebuild kits at a decent price. Thanks.

Also has anybody done this swap leaving the standard with AA adapter? What clutch kit have people used and your opinions on how it came out.

@cruiseroutfit should have all the parts you need - Cruiser Outfitters

Their website sucks balls but if you scroll down on the above page they offer rebuild kits with all the bearings and seals etc

It does suck, but everything is there and growing :D
(I promise a new site will happen)

We stock all of the Transmission & Tcase rebuild kits, individual bearings, seals and gaskets. And shafts, sleeves, forks and gears themselves too. We stock full clutch kits, etc. Give us a ring, we would love to help!

See a Vendor that admits the obvious :) and yes it does continue to grow, if only I could put it in a shopping cart and click the paypal button and wait by the mail box AND see the pictures bigger than a thumbnail. Don't worry though it doesn't suck balls nearly as much as the Valley Hybrid / Cruiser Brothers website so you are way in front of them :)

Fwiw you can right click images and "view image" as they are all bigger.

We just love talking to our customers so much :D

I sure hope you mean Talking not Taking to them, there are enough shops around that do the taking part more than the talking part

Actually it isn't too bad. here is my thing. I have a 85 with the H42F with the spacer and many sites say it needs a different 5 speed kit. Your site has the same kit through. Now on the surface the only difference should be a longer output shaft that has nothing to do with replacing the bearings but are those shafts a different diameter?

Nope, changes to the transmissions were input shaft related. Buzz us when you're ready and we can quickly sort it out.

So nice to get kit #TR47586 and only 3 external bearings are in it with many other gaskets and seals I don’t have for a cruiser made Jun 85.

What bearings are you missing Chris? We can certainly address issues with missing parts. As for the extra parts, it's simply less expensive for the Japanese kit assembler, retailer (me) and end consumer (you) to build a kit to cover a wide range (in this case Jan 75 thru April 1986) by including a few dollars worth of spare takers for the different variants than it would be to have to assemble, stock and retail 4? different variants.

What "external" bearings are missing? You should have received 6 boxed bearings and 17 individual rollers that make up the input shaft bearing. All are internal on the transmission.

There are only 5 boxes bearings. 2 needle bearings, the bag of input needles is there, the rear lower is different with a stop ring witch probably just newer style, only one large bearing. 90363.40018

Can you snap a picture or the roller bearing box faces?

I'm assuming you called or emailed this to the shop as well? I currently traveling out of the country but they can get the missing parts resolved and shipped Monday.

Edit: the ring is simply removed, part number supercession a few years back by the bearing manufacture and it now comes with the unnecessary ring.

Ya just making sure it’s not the wrong kit. Pulling apart today and probably need some sincros anyway. That extra ring actually makes sense when pulling it out.
