Pick up a gallon can of carb dip/with inc. bucket at your local auto parts store. I assume you have an exploded view diagram of your carb..if not your rebuild kit may have one..or you might be able to get a .pdf from holley online. Two pretty helpful things. I put an old towel down on a nice sized work surface with good lighting...and then slowly take it apart. Remember not to dunk any plastic bushings or washers in the carb dip...it'll eat them. Wear some latex gloves around this stuff too. I've dunked the phenolic spacer...but didn't keep it in long and thoroughly rinsed it afterward. A small brass wire brush (tooth brush size) comes in handy and the nicest thing if you have it availible is compressed air blower to blow out all the passages after it has been thoroughly rinsed with water. Take your time and have fun.

Videotape the disassembly and take notes of what came out of which hole. It is amazing how many parts can go more than 1 way, and only 1 is right. Do not disassemble any of the butterflies from their shafts. Do not dip any rubber parts. I like to wash it 3x in pain thinner before blowing out the passages with either spray type carb cleaner or compressed air. You have to make sure that they aren't plugged.

I've never done a Holley, but have followed PinHead's advice on several carbs with excellent results.
Thanks, PH
Ed
