The sucker won't quit. I repaced the relay, the stalk on the steering column and finally the motor. Now I have a pile of expensive spare parts. I know it'll get ripped off by a tree branch someday anyway, but as long as it's still hanging on the back. I would like it to work. I finally unplugged the relay to turn it off.

My 98 LC is doing the same thing - how would I go about unplugging the relay? I was going to take it to the dealer, until I read your post - thanks.

I was afraid it was the body ECU, which in the long run would have been the cheapest route to go. I have close to $400 invested in, relay, branch and wiper motor. I'll have to start shopping around for a Body ECU.
Did any one with this problem install a remote starter? That was the only electrical change I have made.

Did this start happening immediately after installing the remote starter? Didn't you say you were getting a new ECU installed a week or 2 ago ? Did this have any bearing on it?

It didn't start immediately after I installed the remote, more like 6 months.
I did get a new engine ECU installed last Friday. But the wiper motor is controled through the "body" ECU. My remote start will not work right now. I have to reprogram another key for the transponder box under the dash. To unhook the wiper relay I had to remove the bottom inside trim of the rear hatch, I have the Toyota repair books and they really help on showing where and what type of plastic clips are used. The relay is inside the rear hatch at the bottm. Make sure the plastic is warm before removing any of it.
