hi,
last year my rear wiper started to stop halfway and in the middle of winter was no time to tinker. anyways to make a long story short, i removed it yesterday and did my magic tinkering. the shaft was seizing up so i was able to free it up and lubricated some. the salty roads are sure putting a damper on my 85bj60. we'll see all long the magic touch will last. i thought of sharing my experience with you's so you don't throw yours away.

Ivanhoe,
You may want to check the wiring at the top of the tailgate. Mine broke there and it caused the wiper to stop as soon as I switched it off (it didn't return to the "at rest" position).

i'm aware of the wiring breaking off at the top but in this case it was the shaft seizing up! thx for the tip.
