My driver's side rear window has fallen. I got the door trim off and noticed that the glass channel that fits on the bottom of the window had come off. It was a real pain but I got it back on and the regulator wheel back in place. I ran the window up and down 20 or so times before putting the trim and other pieces back on. The next day I am driving down the road and decide to roll my windows down, and clunk. I hear the glass channel piece fall to the bottom of the door and the window slowly slides down. Do I need to use some sort of epoxy or glue to keep the glass channel on? The FSM really doesn't say anything about it other than showing the individual parts.

The same thing happened to one of my windows. However, when I put the lower track back on the window I added grease to all the rollers and sliders to help the window move more easily. I believe the reason my window came loose from the track was because the glass was having difficulty sliding in the rubber track so I added lithium grease to help the glass slide easily and haven't had any problems since. Hope this helps!

Thanks. I used some gorilla glue to keep the channel attached to the glass. Gonna also do like you said and make the path a little slicker.

rear passenger side

the track has slid to the left on my glass, how do I slide it over to the right?(arrow)

I dont want to break the glass, and I cant use the force of the arm as it moves, but it sure is annoying not having the window work right.

I'd pull the glass out of the clamp/channel, then re-assemble in the correct position. Also consider using silicone to hold everything in place from now on.

yeah, it's that "pulling" action I'm worried about...

mine did the same thing. P.O. just put a board in the door to hold the window up. :bang: It took me about 30 min. to pull the glass out, slide the channel over & put the glass back. I didn;t use any siliconeor glue. The rubber channel was so tight I wouldn't think it would come out. That was about 3 months ago for me with no touble yet.

what technique did you use to get the channel off the glass?
I just feel like it's gunna bend the thing, and if I try to leverage it off, I think it's bending the side channels it slides up and down in.

Mine is sliding over as well.

How do I remove the entire rear window itself? I did undo the two bolts of the actual window frame that goes into the door cavity, but couldn't find an easy way to pull the window free out of the door cavity.

Thinking about adding silicone adhesive, but perhaps I can dab a little bit best I can without removing the glass and it'll no longer slide.
