OK for lack of a better name the rear window heater element, or the rear defroster thingie has a broken wire.

I've seen how to repair the vains with masking tape and Dupont repair kit, but what about a broken to the element right where they meet?

Has anyone been through this before and how did your results turn out?

Yes Junk, the search engine will find this, but you still need to install a mind reading dummy button for me. BTW I’m now USB II compliable.

I'm not sure where your rear defroster is broken, so I'll try to answer with what I know.

If the element grid (vein) is broken, it can be repaired with the rear defroster repair kit available from internet and JCWhitney. It's looks like a small bottle of liquid paper and comes with instruction on how to find the break with a meter.

If the tabs that mounts the wire to the grid (vein) is broken, it can be glued back using conductive adhesive available at auto parts store or auto glass shop.

If the wiring to the rear defroster is broken, trace the break and repair it.

"conductive adhesive available at auto parts store"

That's exactly what I wanted to know, the auto windshield repair center looked at me like WTF when I mentioned that, but he was more than helpful to explain how for $228 he could replace the real window. :censor:

Thanks
