My rear drums are locking up when they are mounted with lug nuts. I pulled the brake shoes so they don't rub the drum at all, but when I tighten the drum, I can't physically turn the drums. I drove it like this to see if anything is scraping or rubbing but no sign of any interference on the drums nor any components. I installed 4 new rear wheel cylinders, new metal brake lines, new hoses and new pads all around. I have a 72 fj40 with a Chevy 350. What gives? I'm loosing my mind...

Did you have the drum turned to match the new shoes? Either replace the drum or have it turned so that the new shoes fit more squarely when the brakes are applied. I’m not a brake expert, this is just what I was told to do myself.

Take the drums off and inspect the brake pads. See if they're dragging the drum as it's going around. Also while the drama is off take the picture the backside of the brake shoes if that's what they are and show us the contact points resting on the brake plate. Show front pictures of the shoes and the springs that are connected
