This is what unhinged communists do. Will impose huge cost on everyone to save "50 lives". It's absurd.

The front passenger occupancy detection system is already retarded and expensive. For example, the passenger seat cushion for the 200-series with the integrated crap costs like $2k IIRC (for sure in excess of $1k). Just for the CUSHION.

I'd so hope the new admin will not only eliminate that but also bunch of other nonsense.

Just stop buying new. completely negates all these stupid ass "rules and regulations"
the "keeping up with the jones" bs is the only thing that keeps this nonsense alive.
idk how we all lived before seat belts, airbags and alarms

I kinda did, buying an extra 200-series. But that is not a solution. The idiotic system needs be reined in.

too many idiots for that to actually happen. imo. 🤣
case in point. the cybertruck, or any electric or hybrid.

Sadly, you may be right about the first part.

Partly disagree with latter. It is sad EVs are saddled with the connected and self-driving bull****, because by themselves EVs are fantastic as commuting / town runabout appliances, of course if you can charge them at home.

theory and practice are two completely different things.
remember 2002 when hybrids were supposed to save the world? ya. marginal advancement 20+ years later. hard pass. just another page in the book of greenscams.

I'll crawl back into my hole now 🤣

Yup, greenscams. I don't care about hybrids, rather braindead idea due to the complexity. Sure Toyota made Priuses pretty reliable, but what a POS otherwise.

Saving the word is nonsense, but EVs are really great in certain applications.
