Hello all,

Had a quick question for you guys. Does anyone know if the OEM rear wheel center caps will fit on aftermarket non OEM wheels? I don't know what kind wheels they are, the PO put them on (if anyone has seen them before it would be nice to know what kind they are). Right now, there is just a big empty space there, and would be nice to have a little Toyota representation in that little spot. Thanks for any info

Nope. They are just a touch to big for the wheel, at least on the $80 rims I got from Discount. I'd think if you can just bend the prongs in on the caps a touch, they'll fit. I just haven't figured out a good way to get a constant bend. If anyone figures a good way out, please share!

depends on the bore of the hub, if it is the same it shouldn't have a problem.

As ljoem said you can probably just bend the tabs if the diameter isn't too much different.

The hub bore looks a little big for the center caps on the wheels you have in the picture though, do you have problems centering them?

Well there is nothing in there right now, I don't have the caps. I just did not want to order them and have them not fit.

I have similar looking wheels. Mine are Eagle Alloy 058's. I believe they are an American Racing AR172 knock-off.

I have center caps, but hated the look. Took them off and it looks much better. The stock center caps are "shorter" than the caps I have (which are a pass through design, not a snap on like stock. I believe they would be tall enough to cover the lockout hub if installed on the front axle (which would be silly, just giving a visual on how "tall" they are).

I had some wheels like that and i got them to fit. i just bent all the little tabs in a tad and they popped right in. my wheels look really similar to yours too. you can kinda see it in the pic

I meant do you have problems hub centering your wheels, because they are not hub-centric.
Sorry, I don't know what hub centering or hub centric means. I am still kinda new here, so I don't know the answer to that.

Yeah, they look really similar. Maybe I will order some to see if they fit, seems like it fills the space nice.

Sorry @Aloha Jen slightly off topic, but Ty why did you sell that beauty man?! I feel like I would have severe remorse if I ever sold one of my 60's...

But like others have said, just tweak the tabs to get the caps to fit in the thicker aftermarket rims.

I wasn't thinking man! i hate myself for selling her. The transmission went out and i just decided that selling was the best option for what was going on. its like losing a best friend though. makes me sad

Hey, why you got to bum everyone out with your sad post like that, maybe she's in a better place now. Lets see if we can turn this thread back around...maybe it went to a super stoked new owner like myself, and it will have a whole new set of adventures. Now back on topic, anyone know where I can find the rear wheel center caps that say Toyota on them?

If you were to measure your wheel, we could compare it to a stock rim. Bending the tabs on the cap would work but it might leave it prone to falling off.

Welcome to Mud. We're glad you are excited about your new Land Cruiser and will help you if we can.
