Had a fellow mudder and friend help me out today getting the front coil overs in. It was successful. Pro tip, don’t remove the ball joint castle nut, instead remove the two bolts that attach the ball joint to the hub.. to drop the LCA down far enough. Now I got to get the ball joints back attached and a few small things and it’s ready to roll…. To the alignments shop.

Glad you got it sorted. I really like those SPC upper control arms. They don't make noise and have something like 4 deg of castor adjustment. You showing your saga of just this minor suspension upgrade reminds me to have a reputable shop doing the work. Of course you went really big on lift. The higher you go the more difficult the install on these Toyota based suspensions.

Yeah the SPCs are great, especially the grease fitting on the ball joint. After the first couple failed attempts at the swap I too was wishing I had brought it to my mechanic, but with things going back together now, I am getting more positive about my “learning experience”. Now I have the knowledge for future situations… gotta keep that in mind. While frustrating for sure, it’s ultimately more rewarding for me. I’m lucky to have other vehicles to drive on the daily, otherwise this month long sojurne wouldn’t even have been possible, and I would have really been in a tight spot.
