I have to replace my rear shock mount, my question is, can the 2" pipe be stright across or do I have to have those slight down angles into the frame. I've looked over the topic, and I can't find an answer.

You can do it whatever way works. I would advise though that you ensure that the shock mounting points are straight AND connect to both sides of the pipe/tube that you use. The guy that did mine before I swapped the frame did not connect it on both sides and I had to refasten the mount 3-4 times before I went nuts with a welder one day and made it permanent.

i was able to remove the shock mounts from my old crossmember.
i just used a piece of shc40 2" pipe, drilled two holes for the shock mounts and welded everything up.
pretty sure the crossmember has to be in place before you weld the shock mounts on.
