Sure would like to know if it is possible to remove the second row and stop an airbag warning. Wife and I sleep in the back of our 100 with the second row removed when camping. Thinking of moving to a 200, but this would be a negative if not fixable.

The parts have arrived! I'll be installing them this weekend and will post a detailed DIY thread.

How did you determine that the resistor is 2.2 ohm? What parts/ kit did you order?

I'm not 100% its a 2.2ohm at the moment but believe it to be because worked for someone on an FJ forum when they replaced the front seats for racing seats.

Circle back in a few days and I'll have an answer for you.

I removed the second row today without reading any of this and the srs light is on lol. Maybe I should have disconnected the battery. Does the vehicle lose all the phone and radio setting when you do that?

There is a thread here somewhere about 2nd row removal. In the US, IIRC, the issue is the airbags. To solve the problem you have to make the ecu believe the seats containing airbags are still there. To do that you use a diode, like what you'd see on a circuit board. You connect one wire of the diode to one side of the airbag plug and the other wire to the other side. Not sure what exact watt and ohm diode you need.

If you search the forum you'll find the thread with the answer. Those diodes should be cheap and readily available either at a electronics supply or repair shop, or via the internet.

I am not needing to put the seats back in. Do I really need to disconnect the battery to do this? I did not disconnect at removal

It would be a good idea, yes. You should have disconnected the battery when removing. But I forgot to also when I removed my 2nd row, so no big deal. You're not dead. Just remember next time as there's a potential for the airbag to deploy.

When placing the resistor, it's less of a worry but still proper practice.

You're absolutely right, I mistyped. 2nd row is the issue. Both the 60 and the 40 have built in side impact bags. To eliminate the fault code I must put a 2.2ohm resistor in line.
Parts have been ordered, I'll circle back when the mod is complete.

Hi, I know this is an old thread, but I have removed my 2nd-row seats and want to know about the resistor, on which wire does it go?

Yellow harness, there are only two wires in the connector, you jump (connect) them with the resistor.
