Rear license plate bracket project

I finished our fearless leader's rear license plate bracket project today. Not bad for a first try.

Fits great on the back of my 25 once I found the stock holes under the 1/2 inch of bondo!!

My real problem was making a repro light. I'll let you know what I was thinking.

Is that the original license plate bracket I think it is? So what happen to the front bumper and turn signal switch handle projects?

Yes, and it's coming back whether you like it or not. As far as the bumper and turn signal, lets just say they got as far as this project.

Mike, noticed that you put a nice continuous weld on there. I attempted to reproduce the spot welds with a plug weld. Yours is much stronger for that first branch that comes along.

Come on Jim you didn't have to let the cat out of the bag. How many people do you think would have known they were spot welded. We need to keep these little secrets a secret


Looking great Mike probably hold up better than the original. That is as long as you don't let Johnny C put it on his FJ40

ya, I did try to improve Toyotas engineering flaws. Plus, I dont have a spot welder

Which way do you want the next batch to go? I might be able to invest in a spot welder, but it may take a little time to get it.
