Fought for hours as gently as I could to get these 36yr old hose clamps off but eventually did the thing I really really didn’t want to do. Totally mashed the last one. No way this seals, right? So what do I do next? I guess for now, I’ll just bypass the front heater too. But I don’t like that long term. Anyone replace this hardline? Where’s the other end and how do I get to it and how painful is it? Appreciate any tips from anyone who has been down this road.

I did the same. I got it back to shape using deep well 1/4” sockets with a *locking* extension starting small and working up

Yes – I got some sockets involved too. The 5/8 inch oak dowel seems to have finished the job. Got it all buttoned up and took it for a test drive… No leaks as far as I can tell! Thanks again fellas.

The level of deformation does not even warrant talking about. Take 30 seconds to reshape it and drive on.
