Rear Hatch latch-2000 Limited 4Runner

I bought my son a 4runner and the rear hatch will not latch. We took it all apart and found that their a couple disc looking mechanisms at the end of the cable to the latch that one has a single tooth. Ours looks bent, but I can't tell which way it is supposed to look. Does anyone have a picture or schematic of how it supposed to look? I think it will fix it if I can bend it correctly.
