I currently have the Slee 1.5" OME lift with the 2866 coils. I'm sitting at about 20" hub to fender in the front and 20.75" hub to fender in the rear. This works just fine for me around town. However, when I load everything up for big trips, I find that at best, I end up with a slightly level stance or more often have the rear about 1/4 to 1/2" lower than the front. I realize that I could just drop the front end 1/2", but frankly I'd prefer to increase clearance rather than reduce it.
The 866 seem to handle the weight ok, but they're just compressed more than I'd like. Of course, they're rated pretty close to the 864 coils when they compress. I'm looking for something that will give me some additional lift in the rear so that I've got a bit more room for compression as it loads up. BTW, what is the "stock" amount of rear to front rake on a 100 series?
The link to my build thread is in my sig, but the short version is that I have a front bumper/winch/lights, slee step sliders, slee rear bumper with dual swingouts, ez-awn k9 roof rack, and a 50qt ARB fridge. When I load up for trips, I'm adding usually 10-15 gallons of water and fuel, and my hi-lift to the rear bumper. I'll also add my oztent and traction boards to the roof. And then I'm also filling up the fridge, adding recovery equipment, tools, gear etc. I've never weighed the truck loaded, but it's heavy.
I don't have a drawer system (although I've considered it and may add one in the future) and I don't have an aux fuel or water tank. I don't tow a trailer either.
I've gotten recommendations that run the gamut from the Slee SOF2RH, the OME 863 and the 864. I'm wondering if the collective wisdom of this forum has any thoughts.
@cruiseroutfit I read somewhere that you have a spreadsheet that calculates all of this stuff. If you have any thoughts I'd appreciate it.
Thanks all.
Here's a pic from my trip to Big Bend (taken in the state park) last week:
