I was reassembling when I realized I forgot the circlip. took it apart again, installed circlip, now hub does not spin freely, like it is locked, is this the way it is supposed to be.

keep in mind the calipers are off on both sides.

thanks in advance............

That should be realtime not real lime, can't type, too much grease on my hands.

that's what I was afraid of.

And if I remember right, yes there is some play in it. Is that the way it is supposed to be?

Yes play is normal, maybe 1mm or so. With the drive flange on you will get some rotation resistance as you wikll be turning the diff, provided the vehicle is in nuetral or you have the opposite tire off the ground, otherwise it will only turn slightly and stop.

Thanks again guys...

Was my own stupidity. was putting the circlip on the shaft tight to the engine side, which makes no sense looking back......

It was just that the shaft slides in a little hiding the true spot for the circlip. Man that's a tricky little SOB even with a 2nd person.

Not tricky if you read the archives about the threaded hole in the shaft and a bolt....

yeah, I missed that one........

Tired, frustrated, just needed help, and the LC gods answered.............
