Heading up to the mountains and currently have 2 different size tires on the 60.

I've got P265/75/R15's in the back that I want to stick with Plenty of tread left.

Called everywhere and all I can find is 31/10.50/15's

If I put the 31's on the front and the 265's on the back would my 4WD work up in the snow?

I've read in a couple threads that say if the tires aren't pretty darn close the 4WD will lock up/not work. Any and all help would be much appreciated!!

C'mon!!!!

There are no tire guru's on MUD right now??? Is this a bad idea? I'd rather not toast my T-case but if this is no biggie I'm going to pull the trigger ASAP.

Wont work!;)

Will work. Difference in diameter is very little.

UH OH!!!

Do we have a tie breaker as to wether or not this will work??

Should not make much of a difference, especially if you only use the 4WD in the snow.

Put the slightly larger tires in the front. This will in affect make them pull slightly more. If you put them in the rear they will push more and may make the rear a little squirly.

I had a friend in highschool way back who had a 3/4 ton 79 chevy pickup. It had 4:10 gears in front and 4:11 in the rear. Slightly taller gears up front. He never had a problem with gears binding and the front of the truck pulled like mad.

If you can you should also do an actual measurment on both tires to see how close they are really.
