I was on my second round of 90 degree head bolts, and a four of them felt like they "broke loose" a liittle just before 90 degrees. Could I crushed the hg in a few spots?

I had that as well, they seemed to all of a sudden go soft. I think that's part of their makeup. I just pressed on with the install and things have been fine for 80k.
