Ahh, missing needles. Look like you already have the 100 series bearing insert so just replace it in kind as the bronze bushings are no longer sold by Toyota as far as I know.

Looks like he may be missing some of the needle bearings? Cant quite tell.

Replacement bearings are available but might not be sourced easily or locally today. Maybe but unsure of a part number for napa or the like

Yes some of the needles are missing, I noticed it during cleaning. But as I remember the other side (long shaft) had the normal solid brass bushing.

Is that needle bearing so uncommon for the 100? I was hoping it would be more available.

What do you think would be easier, replace the needle bearing or get a new 80 series all brass bushing and press it in?

Also wondering if I just remove all the needle bushings if I could drive on that a short bit? Its not my daily driver and I just wanna do a little off reading this weekend. No more than 200 miles. Then replace the bushing or needle bearing and probably those few gaskets as well when I get my parts in. Seeing how the will have to be ordered

They made both styles for the 80's.

I would not remove the needle bearings. I would repack it as is and put it back together in order to do minimal wheeling.

Realize that you MAY damage your birfield axle shaft running it with bad bearings.

Treat it nicely......
Good luck!

Bronze bushing still available from Toyota.

List for $105 or so, some dealers will discount to $75 or so. Offshore for ~$50

We (Cruiser Outfitters) have got what you need. We stock the bearing/bushing combo parts or a solid bushing that allows you to eliminate the bearing and go back to the way early 80's came from the factory. Totally up to you but we stock em and can ship tomorrow morning!

You have to use either the HUB35001/HUB35001AFT & HUB33011 or just the solid bush HUB33002
