What is this part?
And what are the three leads coming out. I think the furthest to the left is the reverse light? But i have no idea about the others.

The part is located behind the driver's side in the very back above the rear windsheild washer bag.

I will have to look, but I don't think mine has that. Maybe trailer lights?????

i used a voltage indicator and when the tail lights are on, not brake lights, the one in the middle shows power and when the reverse lights are on the left one shows power but i cannot figure out the far right one.

thanks for the help

Has to be aftermarket, non stock. The guess for a trailer wiring is a very good one. could the right one simply be the ground?

my 60 came with some after market reverse lights, spotlights. When i traced the only wire coming from the light it went to that right plug, thus the two wires. The second of the two wires goes underneath the carpet and i haven't followed it from there. I think i will go do that right now.

Thanks again for the help....i did email the PO, who is super nice and helpful, and he hasnt got back to me;.

that's not OEM....

ditto on the aftermarket trailer lights....my guess anyways

It is an after market relay, triggered by those OEM wires, and powering?????? Sounds like at least a back up light.
Good Luck,
Kevin R.

EDIT, I just looked at the pic again, the other wire probably goes under the carpet up to a power source or switch.

yeah, the blue "ghetto jumpwire clip" is custom. the white/green/brown/yellow looks like a generic Reese trailer light harness. The harness is zip tied around a sharp edge, not to good for the wires.

not sure if this will work with an old reese harness, it should

vehicle side
black = battery
green = right turn
red = stop
yellow = left turn
brown = tail
white = ground

trailer side
green/black = right turn
yellow/black = left turn
black/white = tail
white = ground

well i recieved the reply for my email and he told me that it was something he added to make the after market reverse lights that he added work when the taillights were on.

The middle is the power supply, the far left is the stock reverse lights and the right side has two wires: one of which is the aftermarket reverse lights and the second i am pretty sure go to a dead end at which used to be a switch.

the good news is there was a corroded conection that i just had to disconnect and reconnect to get it to work. The back up lights work now.

Next on the list is the rear license plate light.

Thanks for the help.

Oh yeah the trailer light harness is around the area also but doesn't come out of that.
