on my way to Zion National Park, it is over 100 degree F my AC high pressure hose develop a leak because it was rubbing against the fender. my question is how much pressure are on this hose and can i use silicone rescue tape as a temporary fix to keep me going for about a week? http://www.rescuetape.com/?gclid=CLu6itvSv7gCFYp_QgodUR4Adg for a
other temporary suggestions are also welcome, are there other product i can use from an auto parts store?

thanks much for your help.:bang:

Don't know exact numbers, but the high pressure side often gets over 200 psi, so temporary repair is a real challenge.

my other question is do i need to vacum the system before i can refill it with freon after i re connect the hose? can i just refill it with freon after reconnecting the hose? :bang:

For optimum performance you must evacuate the system anytime it is opened. If you don't the cooling output will be considerably lower.

There is an EVCO house of hose in St. George about 50 miles out of Zions. They can fix you up with a new hose no problem.
