Ive got a 78 desmogged 2f that I am swapping my holley carb for an original. The aisin is a rebuilt Jim C. I have the carb hooked up, it runs fine but have not driven yet. I am a newb so simple terms are great. I did search and couldnt quite find what I was looking for.
My question is what I do with my brake booster vacuum, and the rubber tube at the back of my engine head that was hooked up to the carb base on the holley? Also I have small port on the passenger side of the carb that Jim did not plug and I am not sure what needs to be hooked up to that.
I also dont know what to do with the big ports coming off the airfilter housing, the one on the passenger side then the one coming off the front of the top.
I have included pics

1st shows overall, the tube inbetween the carb and air filter is what I am not sure what to hook to.
2nd shows: how I think the one tube may be hooked up.
3rd shows small port that I dont know what to do with, its the one to right of adjustment screw.

Any help would be great as I have to pick my wife up at the airport tomorrow!

thanks alot, Ive never done anything like this before!!

On a smog controlled truck, that is the vacuum source for the EGR. Since your truck is de-smogged, I'd just cap it off. Normally the line goes from the carb to a block attached to the carb, and then to a temp sensor on the water pump, then to the VSV, then to the EGR. If you don't have any of those, it won't serve any purpose.

Hi All:

"Sam," you've got that hose hooked-up right in the second photo. Just plug that forward port on the air filter housing.

The vacuum port in the third pic I'd just plug.

Alan

Thanks all! I found out that the brakes dont work so well when the vacuum isnt hooked up, so I found a old spot on the manifold that fit the tube for the brake vacuum, I think it was the stock position.
All works well now, the carb functions perfectly thanks to Jim C.!!! Its a lot more smooth than the holley, but there is a substantial decrease in power, but hopefully the MPGs increase. All in all this wasnt to bad a install, I am not much of a wrencher and this was pretty straightforward, thanks to this forum!
