The magazine is 4wd Toyota owner and I love when a new issue arrives. Almost every issue has at least 1 80s series article.

Called Low Range -- trying to figure out which axle set I need with the e-lockers.

Anyone know what model number I need?

Use Dave'z offroad. Way better pricing and seem to know there stuff.

Correction, only 1/4th of the Snake Lake loop :flipoff2:
Yeah, the only 1/4 of it you haven't gone up, and ya, sorry I missed the 3/4 of it that was fire road :flipoff2: slow-eddy took us on a 5 hr detour that none of us had signed up for before we even got to snake lake...

looks like if you have factory lockers you need CVJ2474-p

Ok, talked to RCV, it is not a $150 rebate or credit. if you want to upgrade your inner axle to 300m (harder material) then it only costs $150 extra instead of $300.

All of it is lifetime warranteed regardless of 300m or not, so I am leaning to not going with the harder material. Anyone have advice here?

I think you have been mislead. You can use any of their 80 series sets with factory lockers. The 30 spline upgrade is only for the inner cv race.

Thanks for your post. Just looking for someone with the right info. I thought that the elocker had a shorter shaft on one side... that must be the rear shaft. Talked to RCV engineer and they said the P was what I needed. Looking at the specs, the shaft length is the same....

Ok, so the CVJ 2474 30t rcv is what I need. Upgrade to the 30T in the Birf.

Thanks,

Fire road? You must be confusing it with something else!

uncomfortable pause.....

are these being made with 30 splines in the birf race? That existed for a bit(thanks bobby long), but passed when he did:( dunno if RCV carried on with this or if the chromo stuff is the factory semi coarse 24 spline in there(and the neck down for steering clearance)?
30 spline Boogger. They are not RCV is not going to make the 24 spline again. (they told me) Thanks for the orders guys. Just pm me for the best price. VuickB6 were your inner axles branded "See Ya mister"? just making sure the 80 axles get the same treatment.

Pretty sure they don't. I can check when I get home since I have them pulled to fix a diff leak. I emailed you pictures a while back after talking with you in a thread on Pirate about Longfields. RCV said it looked like their branding.

I have a set of these I will be installing when I get around to rebuilding the front axle. Going to be installing a part time kit at the same time.

OMG! you are the best Booger. lol
VuickB6, ah I thought you bought some new ones. Sorry about that.
I had know idea you were selling 80 stuff... I have a quote from Paul Sundrum at RCV for the 30/30/30 spline stuff @ $885 + $100(custom length inners). Does that sound like ballpark for your pricing needs?

So what is the consensus here, given the truck has high amount of daily driving what would be advisable replacement for worn OEM axles ?
