I figured if we are going to end up using this forum as our club forum, I would just make one thread for all of my musings and mess-ups...

So we went to Rubithon. It was awesome! Here are a couple pics of Agatha doing buggy things:

All in all it was an awesome trip until we got back into cell reception. Come to find out our dog, Drexler, was very ill and we needed to rush home. Unfortunately, we had to put him down four hours after we got there. It sorta put a damper on the great time that we had at Rubicon.

In happier news, MetalTech has been dragging the 5th Gen all over to different events and the rig is doing (and looking) great. I drop it off again on Thursday for yet another event, which means Amy and I will be taking MetalTech's GX470 to Wallace, ID for our big quad trip with her parents. It should be fun!

With all of the craziness of a newborn and, well, life in general, we decided to get out and explore for the day last Sunday. We got a really late start (because baby), but we were able to do the historic Bennett Pass in the Mt. Hood National Forest. It was an easy drive, but the views were amazing! We even got to feed Canaan sitting in Fish Point fire lookout tower. (Thanks Boogi for the hospitality.) Canaan handled the adventuring like a champ even though he is only 4 months old. I'm excited to do more exploring with him.

I finally got a little bit of time to start working on my back bumper. The main body of it is almost done, then I'm going to trim up the back and sides of the bed. After that it will just be figuring out how to attach it to the frame. A picture is worth 1000 words, so here you go:

I'm really just making it up as I go along, but I think it is working out nicely.

Well Cruisin' the Woods is this weekend and I didn't get quite as much done on the truck as I hoped. But, it is as good as it is going to get!

I had a few buddies come over for a long Saturday to help me with the front bumper. Everything is cut and ready to be welded up, but I ran out of shielding gas. Luckily we were able to get the center winch mount finished, so I painted it up, mounted the winch, trimmed the grill to make it fit, and called it good enough:

All in all, I'm super stoked how it came out. The wings are super bad ass, but you will have to wait to see that. I am very grateful for good friends that were willing to help me with figuring everything out!

So yeah, Cruisin' the Woods this weekend out in Tillamook State Forest. Pre-registration is closed, but you can still sign up day of. If you are in the PNW, I really hope to see you up there! Here are all the details: Cruisin' the Woods 2019 - Kickin it Old Skool
