Hi folks,

My 2004 100 series has had a dangling rain sensor since I bought it. I've bought a new OEM pad to sit between the windscreen glass and the rain sensor but unfortunately there is a part missing.

The rain sensor slots over the metal bracket which is fixed to the windscreen, however the little (I assume plastic?) piece which slides into the side of the sensor and locks it into position by engaging the metal bracket is missing.

I've looked around and can't find any where they are sold separately from the sensor (which does thankfully work).

Please can anyone:
- let me know where I can find one
- an alternative approach, e.g. adhesive to fix it to the screen
- let me know if they have one they'd sell me from a duff sensor (I have an address you can send stuff to in CA, who will forward to me)
- measure theirs in lots of detail so I can get one 3d printed.

I'm aware from reading on here that you can unplug it completely for a traditional intermittent experience which I'll opt for if I can't get this sorted.

Thanks so much!

I've been around 100's since 2000, and I've never realized some markets came with rain sensors. I would love that!

eBay, always check eBay!

I guess Toyota felt bad for us in the UK knowing how much rain we get and threw us a bone 😂

Always checking eBay but people don't really sell faulty sensors :(

As a bit of closure in case anyone comes across this with the same issue, I was unable to locate the small little plastic retaining clip, and wasn't able to find anywhere to design/3d print one, so I opted to use a small amount of silicone based adhesive. I cleaned the screen and sensor, fitted a new toyota 'pad' between the sensor and screen, and applied a small bead of adhesive which allowed the sensor to be held in place securely without getting adhesive on the sensor or around the unit on the screen.

I now have working auto wipers, well at least on an 'intermittent' wiper setting e.g. they will go different speeds intermittent when it senses rain, but not continuous. I'm not sure if this correct or not, but having modes which aren't continuous all the time is an absolute game changer!

If for any reason it stops working, I intend to purchase a whole new sensor, or unplug it completely which apparently will revert the car back to intermittent mode (no auto).

Thanks
