radio not working

trying to fix the radios in my 80. for a while now it hasnt worked, for a little while it worked intermittently. the cd player works fine. I figured it was the antenna either pulling out or wire or something.

finally took the radio out today, antenna was all attached, I went and bought a new antenna and hooked it up running the wire through the door to test and still nothing. so....does this mean the radios toast? the po has some kind of amp wired up. I connected the antenna directly to stereo and indirectly, going through amp with same results. aftermarket radio.

just want to make sure I try anything that might be a problem before buying a new stereo. i always thought the cd/tape players broke before the radio.

must have been the radio/cd unit. took the cd player out of the 60 as i was/am having no power issues to it and plugged it in, it all works radio and all.

now i have a nice little rubber antenna on the 80 to match the one on the 60 too (electrical antenna was gone since before we bought it)
