NGK is not OEM I believe, but from what I've heard are good quality.

Koyo makes a radiator identical to OEM, but it's manufactured in India/China rather than Japan. It's also cheaper.

Mike,

That (non OEM) radiator REALLY needs to go.

Oh, and post up that pic of your belts to check the routing.

Good meetin' ya,

Curtis

Hey Mike, pleasure to meet you yesterday.

Hows the progress?

I am ready to buy a new radiator. I PM'd Cdan and he wrote me back and asked me for a fax number. I replied back with a fax # for him, but I haven't heard anything since. He must be away for the Labor Day weekend.

How do I find out more about the Koyo radiator that you mentioned? who to buy from, ect??

Search the 80's forum for it. Several recommendations on places to buy it from.

Koyo radiator ordered along with a bunch of hoses from Cdan. Should all arrive early next week!

The Koyo was $250 shipped. It is a plastic tank alum. core 3 row radiator. I spent another $100 on all the radiator hoses and a few other hoses with Cdan.

FWIW, I have the stock radiator in my 93 with 235k, unless of course it had been replaced.. That seems like an excellent price, especially with shipping.
Keep an eye on it just in case.

Please tell me you also ordered a shroud??

Ya he's dealing with someone for a used shroud and fan. He has a wobble and if the clutch is bent he is going to use my old one that worked just as well as the new blue one I put on.

I have a black hub fan that likely just needs new fluid to work properly again.

If he's going to use your old fan, he should get new fluid to swap out as yours is likely old and not up to par anymore.

Yea, I couldn't justify spending $450 on a Toyota radiator - I have 190K on my rig, so another 235K is not gonna happen. I am confident that this radiator will outlast the life of the rig.

I think G Double Tizzle was saying that he didn't notice a diference when he changed to the blue cluch. So that would meen that the old one was working just as good as the new. Just to clarify for ya
