I think G Double Tizzle was saying that he didn't notice a diference when he changed to the blue cluch. So that would meen that the old one was working just as good as the new. Just to clarify for ya

G Double Tizzle did not change the fluid or when the clutch plates opened, so the performance would be nearly indistinguishable from the black hub fan.

You can change the fluid and adjust the clutch plates on the black hub ones as well. That is the plan for the :princess: truck.

I bought a new blue hub for mine, as mine had failed and I was unsure if it was repairable or not (most likely is), and didn't want to mess around with it in 100+ degree weather. Some fans have failed due to lack of fluid, and the clutch plates or bearings get damaged. Mine does not appear to be leaking, so it likely simply needs new fluid.

A little PM (new fluid) once every 10 years or so and it should never fail.

I do! :) I totally forgot to send some up to you. PM me your address again and I will get a set to ya :)

I still haven't done mine yet :(

did you upgrade to higher cst fluid? worked great on mine, the needle never even gets above half way. speaking of; (hijack) Tyler- you have those parts to smarten up the needle still? if not I'll just get from radio shack, but to the OP, check into this mod also... https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/64252-93-97-coolant-temperature-gauge-modification.html

HTH

I upgraded the fluid and adjusted where it opened. LT's thread is excellent for that.

I need to do the temp mod as well. Been putting it off as I don't want to tear apart my dash.

I hear ya on dash tearing apart, but as it's not my DD I can get away with it. there must be a good thread with pics on how it's done yes? see above I suppose...

Radiator showed up today. I expect the hoses to arrive in the next day or two! Excited to get everything up to par.

Well so I thought everything was good.... UNTIL I opened up the box. This thing doesn't even resemble the correct radiator. It is completely the WRONG radiator. Not happy right now

It is boxed up and FED EX is coming to pick it up. They made a mistake and sent me the wrong part #. Expecting correct shipment Friday

I hope they're paying shipping both ways, and they should expedite your new shipment.

Yea,
They are eating the shipping. I should see it Friday

Here it is. I'm gonna be installing this weekend and having Toyota do full cooling system flush on Tuesday.

Actually looks real nice, I was impressed. But the real deal is how well it cools, I imagine it will do just fine.

X2

If you need a hand shoot me a pm :grinpimp:
