I think my radiator has failed. Today I had a small stream of radiator fluid squirting out thru the front grill about 3 inches from the bottom of the radiator.

I have overheating problems in hot hot weather and knew the radiator needed attention 153K.

I know I need to do a little more investigation, but was just checking the price for a new radiator and it doesn't seem they are still available. I checked manefre, sor, and toyotapartseast.

I found an aluminum radiator, but read mixed reviews on this forum.

What are my options?

I had my land cruiser for about one year and am beginning to realize what a challenge they are to keep on the road.

Specter Off Road has new aftermarket radiators well as used OEM radiators in stock.

I purchased one of their aftermarket models for my FJ62 last year, it fit perfectly and is working just fine.

I'd replace the water pump, belts, hoses, radiator cap and thermostat at the same time if I were you unless you've replaced any or all of those part already.

CSF Radiator

Another vote for the autopartswarehouse.com CSF replacement. After finding the OEM radiator NLA and receiving a re-core quote of $600 from a local radiator shop, I found the CSF 2708 for $240 shipped last year. Used a 10% off coupon code bringing it to $216 shipped. It looks like their prices went up to around $350 but you can probably still find a discount code online to bring in down some. The radiator has been flawless in the 87FJ60.

I bought a radiator from champion radiator it's all aluminum and works perfect. If I remember under 300 shipped

Performance radiator is indistinguishable from OEM. Going on many years with mine.

OEM and Performance.webp

have it checked

Before I spent any big money, I would take it to a reputable radiator repair shop and have it inspected. Mine was leaking at 212K and I was going to replace, but had it run by a shop who fixed it for $50. 230K on the radiator and it is still going strong....

I replaced mine with a Performance radiator about ten years ago. It worked fine for a year until I cracked the inlet pipe when I was leaning my fat carcass over the engine. I took my original radiator to a shop for a $50 rebuild and it's been fine ever since.
