Here's a pic from a buddies 2009 200 Series. Just noticed coolant seepage on the top of the radiator at the edge of the little raised wedge contour. He's on the road this weekend so hasn't cleaned it off for further exploration yet. But prob not the first to be seen here on the forum. What's your guys best guess and solution. Can a crack be repaired or is radiator replacement the only way to go? Thanks for the assist. Sage1

I read the thread @TonyP cites and I became the only person in history that replaced his radiator as part of a PM program. :)

Welcome (unfortunately) to the most well-documented failure point on the Land Cruiser...dating back to at least 1998, as the 100 series did the same thing at that exact same crease point... I replaced my radiator a few months ago...exactly like yours.

I'm in that club as well. I also opted to change the hoses and water pump "while I was in there"!

This exact thing happened to me this morning. Cracked in the same spot. Mine's also a 2009 model. I also have a 1998 LC that has the original radiator, so go figure...

Online discount places want about $275 plus shipping for the factory part. Personally, I wouldn't go aftermarket on this. We know this crack is an issue, but it seems to be the only one.

Not with 200s specifically, but in years of wrenching on cars I've seen WILD variances in aftermarket radiator quality.

Yup, it's been known to happen on earlier 200s. A new radiator is your best bet.

Seems to be happening on 13+ cruisers as well. I know mine had the crack though I didn't wait for it to start leaking.

Edit: just realized old thread. Info still applies.
