The tubs are top notch and do require quite a bit of work to fit everything on the fire wall, once were through our first rig I would expect the second to be a little qucker.

Believe it or not this is a hunting rig.

Believe it or not this is a hunting rig.

IS a hunting rig? or WAS a hunting rig? $40K++ seems excessive just to have the cleanest hunting rig on the planet.

This isn't a comment on people with money and what they choose to do with it, more power to them if they want to paint their Ferrari pink.

I more just felt sorry for the BJ, getting the awesome restore you are doing just to have to go out and get mucked up again.:frown:

I know, I know, all the purists out there are gonna scream that this is what the vehicle was intended for. I agree. But for $40k++ I would buy 2 FJ's, a $5k one to hunt in and a $35k one to drive.:)

I think more like 35K but not sure yet?

Still if you compare that price with some of the big name companies doing restorations its actually fairly reasonable.

I had a customer come in two years ago and ask for a quote on some body work and paint, somewere around 14K.

He came back a year later with a very nicely restored BJ42 which he payed somwere around 65K and it was OK but far from perfect for that kinda doe.

When you weigh out the 25 years he got out of that truck in the first place I think its a good investment for him, weigh in the fact we are building the truck out of Lu lu and its gonna last even longer this time around.

just beautiful! I love your color , and your build

I thank you for the kind words OKIE, the paint is inexpensive Cloverdael Clovathane two part expoxy. 100 bucks for a gallon with hardener and a little extra for the reducer.

They tinted to match original and got quite close.

Been awhile since I spray, was quite a bit of orange peel in the paint, really had a hard time getting a handle on it.

Old thread to the top, Jay finished this truck and it has seen many bush miles without a hitch. They should post up a finished photo for the boys to see.

That's very cool, it's all set for another few decades of work and yeah, I wish we could get the ally tubs here too, fibreglass just doesn't do it for me.
