Well its our first kick at the Aqualu body and its a frame off restoration. Lu lu is a saying I picked up from Kyle at North West Fab when our shops were side by side. Thats his short for aluminum, which he runs in his CNC machine quite often.

Not quite exactly a purist build, but just the same kind of interesting.

We got the new(refurbished) frame delivered to us with new mounts set up for FJ60 rear springs all around.

The original rig is a 1981 BJ42 Canuck born and driven for a few decades before needing a little rust correction.

Pics to come.

Couple more shots, new shop sign thrown in the batch....

Where the heck did you put the chassis and engine? It looks like it's all balanced on the top of some building extension!

Is that ladder there so you can climb up there to work on it?

I like the new shop sign . also like North West Fab's " BLACK BOX" :grinpimp:

Tom, that third picture was rotated 90˚ to the side, so that may have been the source of your confusion. The chassis was actually leaning from the vertical against the blue framed shelving unit. Tilt your head to the left when you look at it.

Ah - Thanks HJ. (For a moment there I thought Radd Cruisers might be as short of space as I am in my garage. And I wasn't too keen on the idea of balancing an engine way up high like that. :D)

Reminds me of when I was asked to looks at ink blots - Most people saw the same innocuous things .... but I always saw things that were really quite scary!

Lots.............LOL

Customer supplied the tub and frame, at this point we have somewhere in the 250hrs to 300 slated at 75.00 a hr plus any parts.

How much does a full resto like this cost?

Yes I know, if you have to ask..............

Couple pics today....

Knuckles rebuilt, rear axles rebuilt also, thirds left alone, in good shape.
