I recently upgraded to the heritage grill, and now my radar cruise control is acting up.

Cruising along at 40 mph
Click the cruise control on/off button (end of stalk)
Engage cruise
On the dash, the cruise control screen displays, then flashes to the error.

Nothing is blocking the Toyota emblem.
Tried disconnecting and reconnecting the radar module.
Tried adjusting the screw on the top of the radar module. The placement of the unit should not have changed overall, but should it be level or aligned with something in the vehicle?

I'm only seeing one option listed for the emblem so that hopefully rules out a radar compatibility issue. link

I’ll guess it’s an aiming issue. Aiming is critical to operation, both vertical and horizontal. If the sensors send the computer something other than perfect, I bet the system won’t turn on.

If the wires for the radar unit in the grill were disconnected, the unit will likely need to be recalibrated. In another thread someone mentioned this can be a 5-6 hour process at the dealership.

FWIW, I did not have to recalibrate anything when I unplugged the radar and swapped it over to the foreign sport grille. I did initially forget to connect one of the two plugs, though, and had similar error messages to what you described (until I plugged it back in).

Probably worthwhile to double-check that both connectors have "snapped" fully into place.

If that's the case, I'll get under the hood and have a friend drive around until we get it right!

Yeah I had to have the system recalibrated (twice because the installer only partially reconnected the cable which became dislodged again) at the dealer after a windshield swap when the camera was unplugged. I imagine the cruise control is on the same system. Takes several hours and the charge was about $350 if I recall.

Not exactly sure how I fixed it, but it's working, and here are a couple of things I tried:
I adjusted the crew on the top of the radar unit to a point where I could not adjust it any further. Assuming the shop that installed the grill and other parts tried to adjust it.

The radar cruise worked flawlessly throughout an eight-hour trip, but once I reinstall TechStream, I'll double-check it.

If you have TechStream, you can do some magic:

Another video by the same guy:

If you watch the video, you'll notice that using the triangle thing is not required, and there is an option for a flat surface.
