I have a 2013 and am considering the ARB deluxe bullbar. Does the bumper render the radar camera inoperable or hinder it's performance. I would like to have a set of aux lights but they might block the camera. Would appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks!

You can see it next to my license plate here.

Thanks cody. How do you like your ARB HID lights? I am considering a set.

No problem. Actually they are both LED. The indicator shows 4 white lit and the remaining are yellow turn signal. The fog though is traditional halogen. I got the 7" round intensity which is extremely bright and I'll be putting Amber filters on. They are a spot/flood combo.

Can the 7" round intensity be used on the hwy, or are they for offroad use only?

In California, they are supposed to be COVERED when on the road...but only if higher than the normal headlights (like on the roof), but I'm quite sure if you had these suckers on...people would be TRULY BLINDED by them. They are incredibly bright!

They are off road only but I will try putting a filter on them as I want for snow and night mountain driving which has less traffic to begin with. I've used them through the neighborhood and can't believe how much light they put out. You can also angle them down if you like.

Thanks guys. I need a driving light that will help me on these dark Wyoming nights but won't require me to constantly turn them on and off for oncoming traffic. Any recommendations?

LED is fantastic but I'm only aware of a couple offerings from Rigid Industries that are DOT certified. I think JWSpeaker also has some legal LED options. I have experience with RI non-street legal lights on my 4Runner and love them. In Virginia I have to keep them covered while on the road though. Anyway, not sure you can get street legal HID auxiliary lights, you may have to go with halogen, but there's a lot of options out there...

Almost all aftermarket lights will be rated for off-road only. Too bright for oncoming traffic, nor will they have a DOT lense. That said look at the smaller lower wattage options like a Hella 500 with a fog lense. That combo will be easier on traffic while still giving you the extra light your looking for. You still might get flashed.

Above is correct rigid has a dot approved led. I looked at it and they are small square or rectangle shape. Didn't fit the look I wanted on my bar.

I am running PIAA 520 yellow halogens on my Tacoma. I've had them for 10yrs and are great, especially in inclement weather, SAE compliant. I did notice PIAA has some new SAE approved LED lights called the LP570 7". I like the fact that they are sold in pairs and include a very nice wiring harness that is a super easy install. I will also check out Rigid. I am leaning on going with the ARB Safari Bar for something different. I already have two ARB Bullbars. Thanks for the ideas.

As LED technology improves I'm sure we'll start seeing more street legal options. The PIAA LP570's at least look the part. Not sure what kind of throw they have.

You could potentially get flush mount Rigid Industries SAE certified fogs in the LabRack assembly and be completely legit...

Thanks for the link to LabRak. I am very interested in that kit with those Cree LED fogs!

Went to rigid's site. Boy, if their DOT/SAE approved fogs would fit in LabRaks kit, that would be perfect.
