Bummer man. I had no idea what this must feel like until I recently got a dog for the first time. Now I dread the day when I have to go through this. I hope you can find another companion who is just as good as Gretta...
Sucks dude. I hated having to say goodbye to my old dog. Hope she passed peacefully.
Sorry for your loss Bro...We have two GSD's and Conan is now 13 and not able to walk, we will be putting him down soon. It is something no one wants to do.

Just re-read this thread…
We currently have three black-and- tans at home, and I’ve shed many tears having to put down the ones that came before these, but…there will always be room in our home for Dobes, (never less than two) and while we never replace part of the family, I always love bringing a new one in, and spending the following number years with them in our family...they all have their very own distinct personalities.
