As with most every other question I've posted, I'm sure the board has beaten this one to death, as well. However, either I'm a real dumb%&^, or I just don't know how to get results from the search function. Seems like every time I perform a search, I get "0" responses or I only get the thread that prompted me to search in the first place. I've played around with all of the values in the search form, but, basically, no luck so far......if anyone has any tips, I'd be glad to hear them!

Now that I've said that, to the issue for which I'm posting THIS thread: I bought a 97 LC with no running boards. While I prefer the looks of the truck without the boards, the ends of the fender flares (the ends betweeen the wheels) are left unfinished looking.....are there any factory trim pieces/other fixes for this, other than re-installing factory boards? I may be overlooking something very obvious, but I can't remember seeing any around here without factory boards....thanks for any advice you can offer.

hmmmm...
You should have mudflaps up front if you don't have running boards. The mudflaps would cap the ends of the flares.

dnp,
It sounds like the PO removed the running boards. PM C-Dan for a set of the front flaps. Most dealers will tell you they don't exist or can't get them. (Thank goodness we've got Dan!)

Hey Dougjohn.

Didn't you do something on your rig to get rid of (or trim off) the dumbo flaps? I would be interested in knowing what you did there.

Oh.. BTW, don't really notice any difference with the 100 series pads. Guess the big question will be longevity anyways.

Also, really been enjoying the 4WD porn. I know how to drive in the sand dunes now :o, to bad they're 8 hours away :(.

Dnp,

I removed my boards last year and had a set of front mad flaps w/o notches for boards. The flaps look good if you bob them and everything blends in from the flares.

Didn't do anything. The running boards, front "L" shaped pieces to replaced by Slee's sliders. Rear mudflap just looked dumb with the Slee rear bumper, so I took those off. The rear mudflap on the LX 450 has a wider opening than the LC rear mudflaps (LX rear bumper hangs lower) -- this resulted in a 1 to 2 inch gap between flap and bumper. Took it off. Looks better now.

You should be able to get the front mud flaps at your Toy dealership. I took my running boards off recently and priced the flaps for about $70/ea ($$$ for a piece of plastic!). Anyway, SOR.com has them for about $60-65/ea if memory serves, but I think the truck looks a heck-of-a-lot better without the RB's, 8) 8) 8) and I've already noticed people eyeballing it just because it looks 'different', trying to figure out why.

If you really want some RBs I just pulled some off my 1994.

Of course they were replaced by a fantastic set of Slee sliders
