LC owners,

Hey I know I am nothing to anyone yet, but have been lurking for weeks (who am I kidding, months) before I sold my FJC. I wanted to learn about the formidable 80 and the internet always points to IH8MUD. So, I know this is a strange intro post, but thanks to all you of explaining things to a 80LC moron in advance. This is the truck I have always wanted, and now I am finally back in the states my wife and family want to travel via RTT trailer around this great nation. The beauty is, this time I have time to wait it out and find the right truck. White and locked is what I am looking for. Anyway back to your regular scheduled programming and important info to read.

Thanks again everyone here! The info is amazing, and never-ending!

You'll find it! If not I mean can always have it painted right? i still need to sell my FJC and hope so soon I love the 80 much more

Thanks, and good luck to you on your sale! I loved my FJC and it was plenty for me, but it was time to move on I think to something I wont owe anything on. You know, to spend more on repairs and aftermarket items...the important stuff in life.

I've had my 80 since 2007 and since moving to TN it's become a 100% wheeling rig (that doesn't get as much use as it should). Every time I work on it, I realize just how well designed and built they are and realize that I should have the family be driving in one. I'm going to be on the hunt for a 100 series for the family vehicle once we outgrow the Jetta TDI. I'm keeping my eye out for one with a bad engine so I can drop a Isuzu diesel into it, but they are hard to find in non-working condition!

There really is nothing built like them... I've come to the realization that I'd rather sacrifice fuel economy to have a safe and extremely reliable vehicle with no monthly payment and cheaper insurance any day!

http://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/cto/3891397857.html im not sure how far you'd want to go to get one. I found this one looking for one for wifey. I don't know this person and I'm not sure if it's locked. the one pic that shows the front looks like it may be. also I'd be willing to go check it out for you if you ended up interested in it after talking to the owner. I'd talk him down a bit though but the pics look nice.

Wow good lookin out already! I have been staring at a 97 CE on flabby, in FT Worth TX. He seems to be honest and knowledgable because he has done the PHH reroute and has had the front axle serviced. I dont know if we can put links to fleabay on here but if you search 97 Land Cruiser you should find it. Its about 6.9k. Anyone know if this fella is on here? He has two 80's he states.

Thanks again for the replies!

Robert
