I tried simple green on my tires, and even let it sit, all that! my question is what if i used a electric pressure washer would it blast off rubber still, like a gas one might (as i immagined)? or be just enough power to blast off grease? if youve got an old tire & an electric pressure washer, maybe you could try it and let me know if those electric pressure washers are actually worth a s***. Thanks!

WTF??? Electric power washer tech is on the Home Depot forum!

Just buy new tires.

I've read the OP 3 times & still don't understand. Are you saying a gas pwered pressure washer will blow the rubber off your tires?

Ive never owned or used an electric power washer, but I will go out on a limb and tell you they are probably as good as an electric weed eater or lawn mower. Which is to say they suck ! Besides, when using a gas power washer all you have to do is put on a wider angle tip and adjust your distance if you are worried about stripping rubber.

I'll be diplomatic and simply suggest that you be more descriptive in your thread titles from now on.

Yes. You need to be able to get you CDO in check.

(CDO = OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), but placed in alphabetical order...)

If you're trying to clean your tires (the RUBBER part, not the rims), detergent (like Boraxo) and water with a stiff bristle brush should be able to cut about anything but paint. The pressure MIGHT remove the paint from rubber (as if you painted your rims with the tires still on them and didn't tape them off.)

Never use a chemical like simple green or 409 on your rubber. It removes natural oils from the tire and dries them out... FAST. Ruined a set of BFG Mud Terrains years ago doing that. Sure the tires looked better for a short time, then started to rot. Once sprayed on I don't think you will be able to neutralize the effect.

I've used Blackfire, Meguiars and a couple other wheel and or tire cleaners, and never saw any accelerated damage to the tire. But these are of course made for tires. The one I have now is a spray on, walk away cleaner/dressing by Meguiars that leaves the rubber black and shiny. I don't use it on my 80 though.

IME Simple Green and Purple Power will damage anything made of black rubber, the stronger the solution the quicker the damage, as in immediate if using either at full strength.
