Question regarding replacing tranmission input bearing

The input shaft bearing on my transmission is making a lot of noise. My question is, can this bearing be replaced without completely disassembling the transmission?

yes, pull the bearing retainer off the front of the tranny and replace the bearing.

You will have to take a lot off. But not a complete dissassembly..

Thanks! I may go ahead and take it all apart anyway since I'll have the whole works pulled out, but it's nice to know there's an option.

Is your xfer case attached?


I think it needs to be removed to replace the bearing....
