I am counting on the wealth of knowledge that exists here.... I want to put 35 X 12.5's under my 89' FJ62... It has stock suspension right now with 265/75/16's under it. What kind of lift am I going to have to achieve to get the 35's under it with good clearance? (On that note, anyone know a good place to get a good price lift, or would it be pertinent just to get shackles?)

Thanks in advance,

Chad

35's are gonna need 5" or more, so Sprung over or custom leafs. If you wanna stay Sprung under, get custom Alcans (like me) or start researching SOA (Spring Over Axle) you may be able to get away with Old Man Emu heavies and extended shackles IDK. You may want to consider 33's or 34x10.5s because the options open up a bit more at that size. Just consider what the intended use is likely to be.

GOOD LUCK!

I have 33 x 12.5s with the OME lift. With full stuff (stabilizer bars still attached) I get a slight rub on the inside of the rear wheel wells. To go taller, you either need more lift, or possibly a skinnier tire.

What are you running for gears? IMO, the auto falls flat with 33s and stock gears.
