I just bought a used 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser. It is completely stock at this point. I want to put on a set of BF Goodrich all terrain tires. What is the largest or best size I can put on this car? Again it is all stock. Thanks for the help.

looking at a set of 285/70 16 BFG A/T and Big10 down here (tire dealer) said they would fit. Toyota advises against it becuase they wouldnt want to say yes, and something happen and they would be held accountable. But so i hear they fit.

Post back and tell me what you do..

285's and 295's will fit without any mods...I think 305's and 315's rub a little bit on fenders..Most of us who has not regeared use 285's....it does kill your mpg little bit though..

Oh yeah...I can fill my tank under $ 45.00 now....its $ 2.15 for premium now...back to good old days..

Not yet! I'm sure I could get them to rub jumping.

I can only speak for the TG'S, I have heard that the 285/75/16 BFG's rub when turning (tread design). Keep in mind that the stockers were 265/70/16's or about 31's and the new ones are 285/75/16's or about 32.8's, so not a huge difference. The tires did raise the truck about an inch. Keep in mind that the BFG's are going to be louder due to the harder compounds used and more aggressive tread design than the stockers. That said the TG's are only a little louder than stock and in my opinion make it ride a little more like a truck (which I like) rather than a very big Camery/Avalon. If you go with BFG 70's you may not have the rubbing issues which typically take place at the rear and bottom of the front wheel wells. With the 75's I have about an inch of clearance at full turn but that is for the TG's.

Good luck, post when you get your tires.

My 305s def rubbed even with the lift.

Presently, my 295s only rub hard cranked.

295 75 r16 minor rub inside rear wheel wells with mad flex. I also recomend the Nitto's. I'm currently running bfg's, I regret the purchase.
