Question about frame

Quick question about fj40 frame. Are all years interchangable? I have a 1/79 w/gas tank under cab and was wondering if a 1971 frame would work? Body mounts in different places?

The body mounts are not in the same place, just for starters...


Steering gear pedestal is not the same, nor is the bell crank pivot up front. The rear cross member is not cut for the tail lamp assemblies to bolt into it like it would on the later frame.

Not worth screwing around with to try and make it work. Either find an earlier tub, 12/78 and earlier, or a 01/79 and later frame.
